Kashan rugs are known for the highest standard and craftsmanship in rug making. One of the most famous Persian carpets of all, the Ardabil carpet in the Victoria and Albert Museum in London, is said to have been knotted in the city of Kashan.

The warp and weft are made of cotton, the pile of high-quality sheep's wool. The dense weave creates long-lasting carpets that last for generations. Kashan rugs have medallions as well as floral ornaments or all-over patterns. The traditional colour scheme is in shades of blue, red and beige.
