CONTEMPORARY NOMADS COLLECTION
With an enthralling presentation that pays homage to culture and showcases the evolution of artistry, Firouz FarmanFarmaian x Amir Art Collection mesmerized the global art community with the debut of their "Contemporary Nomads Collection" on October 5th, 2024. This highly anticipated unveiling followed esteemed previews at the Parallel Vienna Art Fair and Berlin Art Week, culminating in an intimate aperitivo soirée graciously hosted by the Rahnamoon Family at our flagship gallery, Amir Art Collection, nestled in the enchanting locale of Varese, Italy.
FarmanFarmaian's most recent creation embarks on an enlightening journey into Kyrgyzstan's nomadic heritage. This profound inspiration stems from his immersive encounters and collaborative endeavors alongside the Altyn Kol Craftswomen NGO in the majestic Tian Shan Range, casting a profound influence on his textile installation showcased at the 59th Biennale Di Venezia. Within the "SHYRDAK collection," an integral component of Contemporary Nomads, a narrative unfolds that transcends temporal boundaries, forging an immediate and nearly palpable conversation with the artist's earlier explorations into the Amazigh tribal culture.
“Contemporary Nomads” is more than a collection; it is a movement across borders, a dialogue between past and present, and a testament to the enduring spirit of cultural heritage and artistic innovation. With each show, Firouz FarmanFarmaian invites us to observe and journey with him — to discover the rich tapestry of history, identity, and expression that connects us all, irrespective of geography.

ART MEETS FASHION
Both fashion and art are expressions of human creativity and innovation, serving as a reflection of the culture and values of the times in which they are created.
Fashion, in particular, has a unique ability to capture the zeitgeist of a given era. Through the designs and styles that emerge in fashion, we can gain insight into the social, political, and cultural currents of the time. At the same time, fashion can also serve as a powerful form of self-expression, allowing individuals to convey their identities and values through their clothing and accessories.
Contemporary art, on the other hand, is often seen as a more cerebral and abstract form of expression. However, like fashion, it is a reflection of the times in which it is created. Contemporary art often challenges traditional notions of what art can be, pushing the boundaries of creativity and experimentation. It also provides a platform for artists to explore social and political issues, making bold statements and sparking important conversations.
At our gallery fashion and contemporary art came together, creating a dynamic and exciting intersection of creativity and innovation. The exhibition at Amir Art Collection exemplified this fusion, highlighting the ways in which the two fields can inform and inspire one another. By breaking down the artificial boundaries that exist between art and fashion, we can gain a deeper appreciation for the power of human creativity and the profound impact it can have on our world.

EAST MEETS WEST
'I want you forever' reads the painting by Einoddin Sadeghzadeh. The words of a famous Persian poem become a decorative element on the canvas. For those who do not know that language, it is almost impossible to distinguish the graphic sign from the word, but the harmony of the work and its evocative aura fill the canvas with expressive power. Presenting Sadeghzadeh's work is the East meets West exhibition promoted by Amir Art Collection in Varese, which brings new Persian contemporary art to Varese and Italy for the first time. For once, the gallery leaves aside the carpet collection to make room for pictorial art.
The exhibition is, in fact, the result of Afsun Rahnamoon and her husband Amir's passion for art and their desire to make known what is beautiful in the Middle East. 'In those countries,' Afsun explains, 'there are not only wars and bad things, this exhibition shows that art is alive there too and that it can be a beautiful tool for bringing different cultures together.
In fact, the exhibition has a deliberately clear title 'East meets West' where art becomes borderless and the strength of the works of these young Persians dialogues excellently with fellow Italian Fabio Calvetti and German artist Brigitte Groth. The artists Einoddin Sadeghzadeh, Seed Rafie Monfared and Farbod Morshed Zadeh are very famous in Persia but practically unknown in Italy. The strength of their paintings lies in their ability to tell a modern fable without forgetting the fascinating thousand-year history of Iran.
