The Qashqai nomads are known for their carpet production. The nomads move twice a year - in summer they have a camp in the Zagros Mountains and in winter one on the Persian Gulf.

Qashqai Persian carpets can be recognised by their typical reddish-brown colour. The practical colouring is not very sensitive to dirt. The carpets are decorated with a variety of motifs. Whether animals, plants, flowers or trees - the whole world of Qashqai can be found. Even people in stylised form can be found. Besides these patterns from everyday life, there are also those inspired by frescoes and columns from Persepolis. The ancient capital of Persia at the time of the Achmenids is the motif here, so to speak. Mostly, the motifs are woven on a basic pattern of hexagonal or diamond-shaped medallions.
