A very good wool quality from the Persian highlands is typical for this type of carpet. This flamboyant Sarough Mohadjeran rug was intended for the American market. The cream and blue coloring together with its fine floral motives are typical features of antique Saroughs Mohadjeran. These rugs were displayed in noble American houses. They gained a lot of popularity from the 1960s in Europe and therefore became extremely rare collection pieces. Those imported in Europe are denominated as re-imported Saroughs.
