Afshar rugs originate from the north-east of Iran and are made by the Afshar tribe. These former nomads have been weaving carpets for generations to make a living. In the meantime, they have settled down and can be found in the Afshar village of the same name. These carpets enjoy great popularity due to their superior robustness

Afshar rugs are woven in red-blue tones and usually have straight patterns. The range of patterns is wide and sometimes includes rosettes in addition to more linear patterns - whether in the centre or scattered across the carpet depends entirely on the weaver’s imagination. Thanks to their geometric elements, these carpets fit in perfectly with today's modern furnishing styles.
